Question maxum 1800 sr

We just got our boat from original owner, it's a 2000. We are very experienced canoers & kayakers in whitewater, so this is very new for us. We are lookong for an owners manual. already talked with new company who bought maxum, they don't have any. Anyone have one we could buy, or????? Thanks.

The most important manual is for the engine as the boats manual has little info.

I/O or outboard? What engine model?

Maxum was not bought by anybody, they were owned by Brunswick who also owns Bayliner and Sea Ray to name a few. They shut the Maxum line down and kept the others when sales dipped low about 10 years ago.

So Mercruiser 4.3L GM based engine with and Alpha 1 Gen 2 outdrive, correct?

If so you can go to the Documents section of this site and get the Mercruiser manuals.

Maxum built the boat hulls and topsides, but like any boat builder the power comes from Mercruiser, Volvo,... and other components are also third party such as water heater, trim tabs, head, sink,...

different world than autos.

Brunswick is the parent company who own Bayliner, Searay, Maxum and Mercury/Mercruiser. All they shipped was Mercruiser on those boats (with the exception of diesel) for the last 20 years.
