Default Help Needed, Possible Purchase of 2001 2100 SR

My wife and I have been on the hunt for a boat this season, we found a 2001 2100 SR at a dealership with very low hours, it has a 5.0 L EFI motor the interior is in good shape. There are some issues with the snap in carpet as well as a couple of other minor details. We'll have to add a Bimini top to it as there isnt one currently nor a convertible top. Its been about the first boat that both my wife and I can agree on that we both like, which I think is a miracle.
The asking price is a little less than 18000, does this seam high to you all of you or is this on par for what they retail for.

Thanks for the input,

Kelly

1995 MAXUM 2100 Bowrider and trailer - $2250 (Bay Shore)
I am selling my 1995 Maxum 2100 - SRB bowrider. The boat is 21ft and has a mercrusier 5.0. NEEDS OUTDRIVE. Cruises at about 27 knots and max is 47-50. Includes coast guard package, anchor, fender bumpers, bimini top that has not been used (universal type - never installed). The boat was not put it the water last year due to the fact that I bought a different one. It is currently on the trailer and needs to be de-winterized. In 2010 I installed a new hydraulic trim pump, starter, alternator, and batteries. The boat was running good during 2010 I just wanted a cuddy. It was used in the bay on the weekends. Will come with any parts/fluids, anything related to the boat. Please send me an e-mail with any questions. Below is a picture while in the slip in 2010. Price has been reduced due to the fact that the outdrive was stolen once I began showing the boat. I will let this boat go to any reasonable offer.

boats are not moving contrary to what the dealers are saying.....so....offer less ...lots less....don't be afraid to walk out if they go goofy on you and get an attitude.....

Hey thanks for the help so far guys, I plan on offering them less that what there asking for it. The big thing that I found the other night is that when quoting insurance on-line from a couple of different providers, there is a big difference between what they consider the insurable value of the boat to be and what the asking price is. I don't know how big of a impact this makes, but also based on the looking around on Boat Trader, craigslist, etc there is a bit of a difference in what Maxum boats this size are going for in comparison.

Lastly are we dead set on this boat, no not really, if they go goofy on us we'll walk, we all ready have two jet skis which will provide us plenty of fun on the lake. Adding a boat to the line up was giving us the option to go out and have a more relaxed day where I'm not getting beat to death on the waves.

Again thanks for the help, I really do appreciate it!

You could buy that boat for about 10K from a private party.

I bought my 2001 2100 SR2 in VA about two months ago. 290 hours, interior issues (all cosmetic) and needed a new blower. I paid 9k and that included all the gear on the boat including a color chartplotter/fishfinder/GPS unit. I figure I paid about 8k for the boat itself.

Cash talks!!
