Default HELP - 2005 SR3 1800 - came with a 48-831912 24P - ridiculous

Picked this boat up from a friend. He never used it.

2005 SR3 1800 - 4.3 V6

The prop it came with is a

BRAVO 1 - STAINLESS - 48-831912 24P

It's ridiculous. It literally takes 3 mins to get the front end of this boat to come down.

Lake I'm on is pretty small so I'm looking for a prop that gets me up on plane quickly. Don't care as much for the top end on this pretty small lake. Just want to get up there quick.

WHAT DO YOU GUYS RECOMMEND? WHAT YOU USING OUT THERE?

Bravo 1 on a 1800 with a 4.3? Are you certain it’s not an Alpha 1? A 24” pitch is too much for a 4.3 IMO 19-21 would be a better option but others with a similar boat will chime in.

A 19P 3 bladed aluminum prop will give you a dramatic improvement on acceleration and time to plane. Be sure to get a new hub kit also.

I agree with the above. Mine had a 21" pitch, three blade and she could not get out of her own way. I went with 19" four blade and she pulls like a tractor now. If I get another, I might go 19" and three blade to see if I get a few more rpm out of it. WOT is about 4400, top speed about 42mph. I cannot imagine 23" on that boat.

I've read that if you go from a 3 blade to a 4 blade you should drop a pitch

for example
3 blade - 19 pitch
4 blade - 18 pitch

the only exception might be with the redesigned Mercury Spitfire 4 blade
