Changing seats

Hey there gents, I have a 2000, 2100sr and it has a convertible lounge seat in the drivers position and I would like to remove it and put in a pedestal mounted single seat with a bolster due to space (good spot for the cooler) as well as it’s just to low and years of the previous owner sitting on the edge of the seat back it is destroyed anyway. Has anyone ever done this? Or due to mounting am I biting off more than it’s worth? I plan on getting all new carpet made so it would be the time to add snaps and make the carpet fit the void that I would create.

Any thoughts or help are much appreciated!!!!!

Is the deck wood or fiberglass? The factory would use a backerplate to mount a pedestal although they do make anchor nuts for a retrofit like you want to do.

Good day sir thanks for the response,

The deck is Fiberglas, I hope the non skid extends under the seat mount but I doubt it, I worry that all the cheeseburgers and beer I’ve had would rip out anchor nuts....but this has me thinking I should look to see if there is access to the underside through the ski locker...

Not sure how the 2100SR was built but I know the 1800SR (1992) has convertible seats (port & starboard) and they had structure below them for this install, fiberglass molded in the decking. If that is the case then "no" on the pedestal seat that one could mount. Take a look at my album and you will see a number of photos on the convertible seats that I rebuilt some years back. I have added a couple of photos to my album showing the convertible seats on my 1992 Maxum 1800SR. Thought I had some showing the understructure but have not had any luck finding them. Not sure if the 2100SR was built similar?

Thank you sir, looks exactly like mine as far as seating goes, I finally uncovered the boat to plug away at the engine work this past weekend and I think with everything else I am doing I will scuttle this project for a future date, I really appreciate the effort and getting the pics up for me!!! I know I said it before but you have done an amazing job on an “older” model boat sir[emoji106]!!

Thank you for the kind words about my pride & joy, my 1992 Maxum 1800SR. As an aircraft mechanic I take pride in all that is done in keeping her ready to go, inside and out. Thanks again for your kind words. Hope you have a fantastic summer on the water!
