Default Windlass anchor for a maxum 3300

Back again everyone,
This weekend being out on the lake I really realized how much of a pain it is having to walk to the front of my boat, take the clip out to lower the anchor then tie it off once I got my boat close enough to the shore. With wind blowing it really made me realize... I need a windlass anchor system. Does anyone out there have a 2003 maxum 3300 SCR and can tell me what windlass you have on it? I already know they are pricey, budgeting around 1500 for it. As far as installation I can tackle it with a buddy on a weekend. As always, any help and information would be greatly appreciated

Take a look at the lewmar v700. It's low profile and I think it would work well for you. I have an earlier concept model on my 2800 scr and it's very similar to the 700

Lewmar V700. Works great everything I needed was included. I didn't realize however how long it would take to get installed. I'd recommend this to anybody.

The V700 must have a lower total cost of ownership though.

When you cut out the holes in the deck, you will expose the deck coring. Make sure to hog out about 1/4" or more of the wood which is sandwiched between the sandwiched skins of fiberglass.

Then fill the space with an epoxy. You can use marinetex or a add microfiller to the epoxy to keep it from sagging.

Otherwise water will ingress and start to rot the deck.

Original owner of my 03 3300 (family friend) had a Lewmar Concept 1 installed at purchase. According to Lewmar, (https://www.lewmar.com/node/16899) the closest current model to that is a V2. The Concept 1 is very stout, has what looks like an old Chevy starter motor attached to the gearbox.

V2 is rated for up to 44ft boat, has a 700 watt motor, and max pull of 1433 lbs. Concept 1 was rated identically.
V700 is rated for up to a 35 foot boat, has a 320 watt motor, and max pull of 700 lbs.

I've had no issues with the Concept 1. If folks here say the V700 is enough, I'd say go with it, it's substantially less $!
