Now the 7th one out of the ten is giving me a little resistance....

The whole is just a tiny bit too tight....having to thread it all the way in. Good news it's one of the largest, but on my hands and knees on the dock trying to screw it in is just about as bad as finishing it from the inside!!!!

Just 3 more after this...2 behind the AC and 1 more large one for the galley sink. These are gonna wait for a fresh day to finish. The galley sink is prolly gonna be like the other large one. And it will require two people.....

Wouldn't this have been easier with the boat hauled? I've never seen anyone take on this project while wet slipped.

Why add work to the project??? The real work is all done from inside the boat.

Max you do realize these pretty thru hulls make the rub rail, tank vents, .... all look so bad.

Mike, my rub rail and vents are stainless and chrome. This will really compliment the rest of the boat. Coule small projects after these.....replace anchor roller, replace anchor deck switch covers. My business is real slow during the hottest months of summer. Since its so hot out I have lots of free time on boat forums and amazon!!!!

Nothing like working on the boat during the hot season

It's going to look sharp when finished

That is going to look nice when done. A couple thru hulls above the waterline need done for me and I thinking about going the SS route myself. What sealant did you use? Where did you buy the fittings?

Rip I believe Max got the fittings from Amazon, since these are above the water line I would use 4200 sealant.

Rip.....I was fully expecting these thru hulls to be super hard to remove from the hull even after nut was removed!! Of all things maxum decided not to use that freaky strong sealant on the thru hulls!! Once the nut was removed these slid right out of the hull. Since maxum didn't use sealer, I didn't put anything on the new stainless ones. I was fully prepared use some 4200. I did however take my time and make sure the nuts were very tight when I installed the new ones.

Thanks for the advice Mike. Max it's good to hear that your removals were easy. If I redo them I have 18 thru hulls with 17 of them being plastic!

Rip.....let me be clear....removal was easy, access is another story!!! I spent a lot of time finding and preparing myself to get into unbelievable spots for access.....

Trust me ... I thought 18 was a lot too! I think anything that drains has a thru hull!

This project sounds like a good job for a midget with a second elbow just above his wrist
