Default Aftermarket Extended Swim Platform

I'm a new owner of a '99 3000 SCR (Lake Coeur d' Alene, ID). Moved up from a 2400SE and loving the boat, but want to make some upgrades. At the top of the list is an extended swim platform. I have seen some at our marina and a couple of others. Also researched some manufacturers' websites. The results appear to be mixed: At least one I have seen is a catastrophe (WAY to large), another was about right (manufacturer is in AZ.) Has anyone out there added an extended platform...and were you pleased with the way it turned out?

We're packed up for winter now, but as I see it, only 5 more months and I'll be back on the water!

Thanks,

LanikaiMike

Check out the pictures of my boat. We went with swimplatformsuperstore.com They can make it any length you desire. I went with a 48 inch platform and is great on our 3200.

Check out swimplatforms.com, they can make it for just about any type of boat. Ordered one and installed it on my 2000 2400 SCR, the best upgrade I have done on my boat and been very happy having it.

LanikaiMike welcome aboard.

I think the two recommendations above are the best choices. Let us know what you decide on.

Use the Search feature on this site, there are a number of posts from other members who've installed them as well. As for catastrophically large.........that is a matter of opinion.

Thanks for the tips. I am in contact with Swim Platforms Superstore awaiting a quote and estimate of delivery time.

Update: I have gotten my quote and working on final configuration (really a great company to work with). One question: one of the options on the unit I am looking at is "rope lights" to dress it up. My question is this of anyone who has opted for this upgrade: Do the rope lights throw off sufficient light in the water to create the desired effect? I am going to see if they have a picture in the water, but thought I would reach out here.

Thanks,

Mike

I would think the light rope would provide an even glow around where it is installed. If you are thinking it will light up the water under the boat I do not see that happening, you will need underwater lights for that.

Default How did it turn out?

LanikaiMike - how did this project turn out?

We have a 1999 3000 SCR w/ twin 4.3L and are considering the same. We have fully restored the boat and this is next in our wish list.

Any change in handling or issues with the platform scooping the water while getting on/off plane?

Thanks!
