Well I spoke to soon. It happen again. Got up on plane for about 200 feet and the port engine did the same thing again. I think something as soon as it heats up fails. They start up like they just got tuned up.Still got the jet ski for tomorrow. Left a message for the mechanic that his work is not done. Hopefully he can get to it next week. Admiral and I had a great dinner saturday night.

Guess you need to give him more beer.

He will need to get the engine fail to determine the problem.

My first thought is ignition sensor in the distributor.

My mechanic looks at the boat today...got the plastic cowls off both engines ( just in case) and the cooler floor out of the way for him. Hope he can figure the mystery.

Well got a call from the mechanic this afternoon and after about an hour and half of poking around he found a corroded dist cap .

Fired the engine up in the slip gave a load test in gear about 1200 rpm's ( I've got some tough dock lines) and ran like a champ.

A friend of mine and myself have 9 am appointment for a test drive tomorrow. Take the boat out and run the p out of it. Hope there are no more issues.

Well folks... my buddy and I went a for joy ride on the boat around 9 this morning and everything went great. She purred at 4000 rpms for a good two mile run up the river and I mixed it up coming back. No hiccups! Since both dist caps were put on at the same time I'm getting the other engine done next week.

I am tempted to put new spark plugs in but might wait since the season is getting close to ending.

Roger, at this point I would just use the boat for the rest of the season. Spend this winter slowly gathering up all your tune-up parts. Take advantage of off season specials and start fresh in the spring. Jesse
