Default Be safe this weekend...

Most know that holiday weekends, especially Memorial Day, are some of the worst weekends for mishaps on the water either because of inexperienced boaters out for the first time, unforseen problems on a girl's maiden voyage of the season or irresponsible people doing more partying than boating.

Everyone please be safe and keep your heads on straight this weekend and if we're all lucky, I'll see you on Tuesday.

well...so far this weekend was pretty spectacular.....this was our first warm weekend of the yr...we've had so much rain and crap this winter that even the ski resorts are still open until something like july or august....

but overall the water was pretty nice and boat ran great...unfortunately the vhf radio stopped recieving on the upper channels.....so...gotta get that repaired...

hope everyone had a Great memorial weekend....

hopefully you remembered the Vet's this yr.....

It turns out that the water was very quiet where I was. When I got to the ramp, there was only one other trailer in the lot so no waiting and there was no trouble at all on the water. There was one jetski that jumped another boat's wake and crossed my path (from my left) a little too close while I was towing the kids on the tube and a couple more jetskis that wanted to jump my wake while I was towing the tube, but none of that turned into anything serious. I don't know if the skis saw my orange flag (required in NJ when towing a tube/wakeboard/skiier) late and realized the tube was attached or what but they made the right call and stayed out of my wake.

Ed, I hope everything works out for you.

In the midwest Monday turned out to be the only nice day.....the admiral helped her daughter with boyfriend move (new job) so I went down to the marina by myself and took a couple of rides on the jet ski. The weather man said it was going to be windy and he was right. I think I went through move waves than over them. I still have water coming out of my ears. I was still alot of fun!

Had a great, safe FOUR day weekend. Launched Friday and Saturday. Both very nice days on the water. Not too crowded. I had never towed another boat until Friday. Guy had his engine cover up so I made my way over to him to ask if all was ok. He asked for a tow back to the dock. Got him back, he offered me a "tip", which I appreciated but declined. Then on Saturday I towed another boat back. Two in two days! I figure I now have some good boat karma in the "bank"! Sunday, it was real windy so I just went to the launch and watched all the, shall we say "newer" (polite) boaters launch and retrieve. GREAT entertainment - better than any reality TV show I have seen!

Ed, sorry to hear you are going in the hospital again. I hope it is not "serious" and that you get better soon.
