Default Winterizing on water

Hi,

It's my first year and first winter approaching and want to winterize.

Boat is in the marina staying in the water.

I have watched various videos on how to etc but none was for the boats that stayed on the water.

Any help much appreciated

Oscar

What kind of boat are u winterizing? So depending on what u have you change the oIL and filters ..drain the block...winterize the a/c. Drain your water supply and pump out the head tank. Hopefully you have an inboard and not a I/O....Then depending if the water freezes you might get a bubbler.

Ask around to the other boaters do.....

Good luck...

Is the boat in the water or on a lift? I’ve never been a fan of leaving a boat with I/O in the water for the winter as cut bellows or leak of the water hose to engine which has no valve will result in the boat sinking.

Being a 4.3 I’m assuming the drive is an Alpha so no way to suck antifreeze though the system since the raw water pump is in the drive. Only thing you can do is drain the engine and exhaust then back fill with antifreeze through the thermostat housing hoses. This boat isn’t that big so I recommend storing on land.

I agree, is there a reason to not have it pulled? No trailer?

No trailer I am afraid. Previous owners also kept it on water. There are tube heaters inside the engine room. I was hoping to do my best and run the heaters throughout winter?

I may end up asking an marine mechanic?

Heaters don’t work when the power goes out which typically is durning a storm.

I'm not clear why you're leaving the boat in the water. You don't need a trailer. Blocked keel with jack stands is what most people use.
