Default Trailer Brake Assembly Spares

Just carried out pre-season service on my boat trailer and find that one of the brake shoe springs has snapped.
(Starboard side )

This is the view of the brake back plate assembly:

This is the broken spring:

This is where it fits:

This is a standard 5 stud 10" drum.

Anybody know where I can get a replacement spring ... it's a Karavan trailer, but they have a minimum order.

I'm not in US so can't 'walk along' to a trailer place to ask, need to find a source on line where I can buy a spring ... I can get it sent to a US address who will forward to me.

Any suggestions for spares ?

Or anybody feel like getting one and posting in to me (at my cost of course)

I'd be happy to help you out.....(name?).

Once you find it you can order and ship to me then I'll forward o you. Not sure if you'll fin just that one spring - may need to order a kit. I need to order a few things for mine as well so if necessary I can order it along with my bits.

Determine what company made the brakes on your trailer. Here are a couple of places that I've heard are very good:

Just let me know how you'd like to go.

Regards,

Dan

Not sure how I tell who made the brakes ... no name on them that I can see.
However when I had to get replacement hydraulic cylinders .. I just got generic parts from Overtons. On their catalogue they list the items as "Tie Down" 10" drum brakes.

Guess I need to buy a spares bag ... anybody know a good supplier for "Tie Down Spares"

Worse case I can get Overtons spares pack ... $49 ... but seems a lot when all I need is one spring.

Appears that you may be stuck buying a kit. Here's one for 35.00 USD:

Unless you can find a local store that sells trailer parts this may be your only option.
