Stern Drive Water Tube

Hi Guys -
I had my Boat Engineer come and fit a replacement Stern Drive Water Impeller kit, during the Spring Service, I'd had some overheating at the end of last season so thought it was time to fit new.
To our surprise the Water tube (that goes from the impeller upwards) had completely failed - anyone had this before

From what I can see in the picture it looks like the water tube from the upper housing broke off at the base. It appears that the previous time the drive was separated and reinstalled it was forced on damaging the tube and guide tube which is shown crushed in the middle. If I recall the upper tube has a flange and four bolts that attach it to the upper housing so it can be replaced.

Just looked at the manual and the but uses a seal to attach to the upper housing. I must have been thinking of the older drive that had it bolted on.
