Default Maxum 2400 SCR new owner needs new portlights

Hi all,

I am the proud owner of a Maxum 2400 SCR and after an 85 mile trip along the south coast of the UK, I found that the portlights and seals, well the seals mainly are not in great shape. I have had a look around the web and I find myself a bit confused. It looks like Maxum/Bayliner, etc never actually made these parts and other mfr parts are what is actually installed on the boat. Does anyone have a definitive answer to this and if so, can I purchase stainless replacements for it? I don't like the plastic ones as they prone to damage and I reckon that stainless will last longer and would look better.

From what I understand (and I will measure), 16 x 6 inch is the size I need and the part number seems to be 1692579 for the frame. I could use the existing glass possibly as it's not broken but the seals don't look up to the job the clamps on the inside are.... well lets just say not sea worthy.

What I would like are proper screw down clamps to hold these things shut and more than 2.

Anyway any constructive advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks all

Welcome aboard from another 2400 owner.

You will need to replace the entire port assembly as frames and window portions between plastic and metal will not be interchangeable.

All systems on all boats are 3 rd party, ports, engines, faucets, lights, ....

Manufactures only make the hulls and decks.

Default Many thanks

Thanns for the response. I wasn't sure how much was after market kit. I think I will replace them for stainless parts then. The boat show in Southampton is on next weekend so maybe there will be some good offers. Great boat and in a heck of a good condition. Only 372 hours on the engine too! Thanks again!
