Default Faucet/Showerheads

I have Whale Faucet/showerheads that have the adjuster on the handle to change the water flow from spray, to stream, to off. These seem to fail every once in a while where the adjuster doesn't really do what its supposed to. Meaning, turning it to spray, it still comes out streaming, or turning it off doesn't turn it off.

Are these repairable, if so, any info on how to take them apart?

If they are not repairable, any good web links/stores to buy just the handles and not the entire faucet combination?

I have two of these, one in my head/shower, the other in the transom area.

Thanks.

These are made by whale. You can order just the shower/faucet heads. There are two different style/size of threads on them....early and later model, just be sure of which one you need. I have taken them apart and cleaned replaced oring. If I remember correct, the center of the nozzle pulls out. Have to use a small pair of needle nose pliers..

For anyone who has this problem with leaking shower heads, here is the info I found to work for my shower heads.

Take the center part of the head out, this needs a little wiggling but it comes straight out. You'll either have a screw behind it or a nut. Take that out. Behind that are 2 o-rings, a larger one on the perimeter and a smaller one. The smaller one is usually the culprit.

You can find these o-rings at Home Depot, here is the info:

Danco $2.27 for a 10-pack of rings.
model # 96724
internet # 100271700
store sku # 583970
#7 o-rings 10-pack

These are 3/8" ID x 1/2" OD x 1/16" Wall O-rings

Put some silicone lubricant on the o-rings when you are reassembling. That should take of leaking whale shower/faucet heads.
