Default Dashboard repair tips

Hey guys, first time poster here so not sure if this is the best place. Anyways, I've had a '97 1900SR for a couple seasons now. Love it and it's been great for me. I even installed a wakeboard tower since I'm all about water sports.

To get to the point though, the original owner didn't take the best care of the boat. For some reason he repainted the dashboard and it looks terrible. I've been wanting to fix it up and I finally have time to do it. Also, the top of the dash (the part where window is) is extremely dried out and even discolored from the sun. I was wondering if you guys had any tips on how to make this all a little more visually appealing. I attached some pictures to show you what I mean. Thanks!

Welcome aboard

That does look like crap. You need new switches as well.

What is the material, plastic?

I would sand it and use some filler to smooth out the area them mask and paint.

Yea the material around the gauges is plastic. I was thinking sanding it down and repainting it would be the best bet. Not sure what the material on top of the dash is though.

Looks to be a molded plastic with a crinkle finish.
