Default Commissioning A/C System

I went to commission the A/C system and there was no water coming out of outboard through hull.

1) I confirmed the seacock was opened. I even opened and closed the seacock several times.
2) I had cleaned out the pickup strainer with a flathead screwdriver to clear out barnacle growth before I launched the boat.
3) The raw water filter looks clear . I did drain it when I winterized and it is now full of water.
4) The raw water pump for the A/C is turning on when I turn on the A/C
4) The A/C unit itself is turning on when I turn on the A/C.

There is simply no cold air and I don't see any water being expelled as it should be. I'm thinking either the impellor in the pump is bad or the pump needs to be primed. I've never had to prime the pump in the past and I did pump propylene glycol through the A/C to winterize last fall.

Any thoughts?

probably need to prime it....on the hull fitting on the side of the boat..turn the unit off...then shoot water into the unit......that way it will flow back into the unit and hopefully prime it....

Thanks SP, let's hope that's all it is. I've never had to prime it in the past, though the boat was tipped toward the stern when on poppits more so this year than in years past. Hopefully it just allowed the anti-freeze to better, nore completely drain out than in years past. I'll give it a try this weekend and post a follow-up.

I disconnected the line from the seawater strainer to the pump, then connected a garden hose and ran water through until I could see it purging out the through hull. I turned on the AC and it seemed to work. I reconnected the line between the pump to the seastrainer and BONGO. It worked like a charm.

Interesting that I've never had to do this before. I'll keep that in mind next spring. Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated.
