Default Cleaning shorepower cords

On our 2001 3000 scr I have two shore power cords that need cleaning. I have used acetone before but I think the acetone breaks down the rubber and with continual use will wear down the outer rubber.

Any suggestions for a eco type cleaner for these yellow power cords?

Roger

I wrote to hubbell-wiring (they manufacture shore power cables) and this was their response to that question "Any PVC cleaner or mineral spirits will work"
I figured if they make the cables they should know what to use to clean them.

I have used two things, both worked. Simple Green and the rough side of a sponge, and a mixture of OxyCLean in hot water. I swear OxyClean will clean anything.

That is exactly what dinghy and fender cleaner is, as PVC is the traditional dinghy material.

Surefex HD, cleans pretty much anything and is my number one choice when detailing. I will be giving this a try as i have seen it in use and smells amazing!! Reading their website they do a marine strength version too.
