Default Cleaning Bimini

Hey guys,
Unfortunately I wasn't able to check on my boat as much as I wanted this past month and when I checked it the other day,
I noticed that the seagulls really took it upon themselves to eat mussels and poop them out all over the place.
I've heard the seagull waste is acidic and destroys canvass. So much for the fake owl and streamers.
So with that said, whats the best way to clean the Bimini without damaging the canvass?
Thanks,
- Joe

*EDIT* Just found this link online that answers my question.

i used the boat wash and my house power washer and just power washed it from both sides, while it was on the boat.

this also washed off some stains on the onder side.

then let it dry.

Hey Pas did you use a gas or electric pressure washer? Also what tip did you use? I have a gas one with 0, 30, and 60 degree tips. The 0 degree would put a hole in the material in no time.I would be concerned just using the 60 degree. My pressure washer is 2700 psi.

I have had real good luck by using hair shampoo. Johnson's baby shampoo to be exact. Something that is mild works the best and I hand scrub the top while still on the frame. I would think a power washer is going to blow out the threads imho:-)

I use Woolite in an extra large washing machine at the laundromat. Realize my canvas is huge. Sometimes I needed to run it twice. Afterwards I let it air dry and re-apply canvas waterproofing. Works great! I'd be quite nervous using a pressure washer

gasoline power washer with the .30 head, but I don't blast it, more of a 4 foot rinse.

it pulls any mold off the underside of the canvas too.....

If it rated for 50 mph winds, i think it can take a little spraying.

Boat soap, the boat brush and a garden hose. It works great. However, I only do that to spot clean a specific area, such as bird droppings. I do the same on the inside (with a sponge) to knock down mold growth. It works great. You'd also be surprised how much it helps with waterproofing. Once it's clean it'll start beading water again.

Soft brush and some soapy water. Sometimes boat soap, sometimes that cheap blue car wash soap. We don't have to clean her too often since she sits in a covered rack at the marina.
