Default Bellows 1992 Maxum 2300 SCR

I just got a call from the office where I store my 1992 Maxum 2300 SCR that one of my bellows is wore out and needs replacing. They recommend all three get replaced. Does anyone have any idea of the time or cost this will run?

Welcome aboard

I would count on a boat buck ($1000). The kit will include all three bellows, gimbal bearing and water hose. A leaking driveshaft or shift cable bellows can result in a sunk boat.

Time wise one to two days.

You replace them all at the same time, not individually. They need to be replaced around every 5 years or so. Based on the year of the boat, have them check the gimbal bearing while they're in there.

Rounderway,

All 3 bellows can be done on the trailer in your driveway if you have some tools and some mechanical experience and friend who has successfully done this type of maintenance before.

Mike is right this type work needs to be done all at once not a la carte and every 5 years is a good rule of thumb. A Boat Buck also sound legit for this type work. That is way I do my own for a 1/3 of that cost.
