Default Troubleshoot engine issue

I will likely have to take it to the shop but thought I'd check here first. My engine is suddenly only running when I have the ignition key fully engaged in the starting position (turned all the way to the right). As soon as I let go of the key the engine stops.. 2000 Maxum 1900 SR. Any ideas?

Probably a bad ignition switch. Cheap part to through at it before taking to the shop.

Thank you. That makes sense based on similar threads. The shop can't work me in for at least 2 months so I think I will try replacing the ignition switch though I've never done anything like that before. Hell, I don't even know where the ignition switch is located. Is it literally the part you put the key in that the purple wire is feeding into? Do you know where I might find a "how-to" video or some step by step instructions? And where i might order the part? I've located the attached wiring schematic but I'm not sure that really tells me much.

I would check the oil pressure switch that provides power to 5he electric fuel pump. When starting the starter solenoid provides power in the keys start position, once started the oil pressure switch closes and provides power to the pump.
