Default shift interrupter switch?

I bought new in 1989 a 2000 SR, I/O 305 LX. I have maintained the boat very well. My problem I am having now is when I start the boat and put into gear the boat stalls. After letting the boat run (idle @ dock) for about 10 minutes the boat will start to go into forward & reverse like it should. I am thinking about installing an upgrade to the new shift interrupter kit plate. Any suggestions if this will solve my problem or not?

Nope the shift interrupt switch is not the problem as it only actives coming out of gear and is not temperature dependent. Sounds more like the choke isn’t working properly.
