Default Operation custom carb spacer.

Thought I’d throw my latest project out here after searching far and wide I couldn’t find a part number for the much talked about “1/4 inch gasket” for my 3.0 mercruiser.

So I got a sheet of phenolic material and make my own carb spacer out of 1/8 material. Pretty slick stuff to work with (by hand none the less) but I was pleased with the results. Curious to see how it runs this weekend. My main goals where to keep the fuel from cooking off on restarts when it’s 115 on the lake and to make the idle a little less finicky. So far this mercarb is my biggest complaint with the boat. I’m one of the few that will trash a Holley because I prefer a q-jet but man.......

Lol the freezer? Took my wife with me when I ordered it (mistake) when they salesmen asked what color I wanted I knew it was over. If there was a more expensive option I’m sure that one would have came home instead.[emoji23]

Just thought I’d wrap this up with my update. This worked out better than I could have wanted! Idle control is just a touch better but the motor runs surprisingly better in that it revs noticeably faster and hot starts are much easier. I’ll take it as a win.
