Default No Top End

So recently I changed spark ply wire boots, plugs, cleaned carbs with spray and generally lubed as I had an idling problem. 1990 Force 90 would start but die especially when going into gear.

I did some adjustments to idling screw and the one by the throttle cam to get that better running in a big tub.

Went out on the water today and lost all top end. Engine just craps out after I try to accelerate past about 2000 RPM.

Ideas? Suggestions?

Since it ran fine before you serviced it (top end), I’d recheck the things you changed. The carb screws won’t affect open throttle performance, so skip to the other stuff.

Is the firing order correct? Is there spark to each plug? Are plugs gap’s in spec?

Firing order should not have changed and the plugs are the type w/o gap. I’ll have to double check my work.
