Default No start

So I've gone to the boat today, been stood 2 weeks.
Gone to start her and she was turning over.
Then nothing?
All the dials move, I've put a screwdriver accross the starter and it spins but when I turn the key there is no starting?
Any ideas?
I thought it could be the neutral micro switch but it's only a guess?

So was cranking but then stopped, now nothing, correct?

There is a 20 amp fuse under the helm for the ignition. Verify the B terminal has 12 V.

If good verify the I terminal has 12 V with the key in the run position.

Finally verify the S terminal has 12 V when the key is in the start position.

If all good verify the slave soleniod is getting 12 V to the coil terminal, small one. The other small terminal is ground. Then verify the large terminals have 12V when cranking.

Forgot to ask when you jumped the starter and it spun was it turning the engine over?

Steve,
Buddy of mine had about the same symptoms a couple of years ago. The ignition coil was the cause. Cheapest fix he has has on a Mercruiser...$35.

Steve said his engine is not cranking over, the coil has nothing to do with the cranking circuit.

Try rotating the engine a little bit by hand. You may have a dead spot in the fly wheel.

Tube that is in the harness not the fuse panel. If you have 12V on the B terminal of the ignition switch the fuse is good.

B stands for battery
I stands for ignition
S stands for start

On the ignition switch

All sorted thanks
It was a loose connection on the ignition switch itself.
Mike the Maxum Magician to the rescue again.
Thanks to all that commented
