Question New engines - hours meters

ACK! Just replaced both engines on my year 2000, 3700 SCR. Can the hour meters be set back to zero? If not, do I install new hour meters? If neither, is it just customary to indicate in the maintenance log book that the new engines were installed and a copy of the invoices attached?

Most honest thing to do would be note the hours in your logs, so you still have an accurate number on the hull's operating hours...

The Hour Meter tracks the hours on the engines, not the hull. I would reset to 0 but document the hours on the old engines so you can do the math to provide hull hours if asked.

The meters cannot be reset. Either replace or record the current hour reading.
