Default Need new engine

Hello, we live in SoCal and our Maxum needs a new engine. Apparently it has a crack due to cold weather when my husband was stationed back East.

Is it worth getting a new engine vs getting another used kboat? The interior and exterior are in great condition.

Any suggestions on reputable mechanics in So Cal?

Thank you in advance for your help.

To help provide our opinion we would need to know what model is the boat as well as what engine it has. Then it gets personal; do you love the boat or just like it? What’s the cost of a boat you would buy if you decide not to fix this one?

Mike you forgot to mention selling a boat with a bad engine will not bring in much money in resale
