Default mystery part

I found this in the left side of my engine bay and want to know if anybody recognised it and where it goes.?
Maxum 175 with 3.0l and alpha1

Those Battery switches do not look as though they are Marine approved!
I would check those out very carefully before using that boat!
I would suspect any and everything done be previous owner/owners, including that wire that has crimp on splices!
