Default Idle adjustment

Engine runs great since brand new carburetor was installed on my 2000 2400 SCR 5.0L engine, but the idle is too low and sometimes the engines dies when engage the gear. I don't want to trail the boat back to marina where the carburetor was installed, this could be just a simple adjustment. Could someone tell me how I can adjust the idle up so the engine will not die when engage the gear?

The idle adjustment screw (screw with a spring on it) is on the throttle plate where the throttle cable attaches. Turning it clockwise will increase the idle speed.

1000 RPM is way to high. It will cause issues shifting in and out of gear and docking.

Thanks for input guys, I will back it down to 650, I think it was below 650 before I adjusted it.
