Default Horizpn 8.1 doesn't turn over

Hi there
I'm new to the forum. I posted this in the Maum Specific area but realized this is probably more appropriate. Got my 3500 back in January. I have a problem with the starboard engine (8.1 Horizon). Initially seemed like dead battery so I replaced it. Boat ran great for a month. This weekend, went to start and I get a tone when ignition switch is on, but nothing when I turn it to the start position. Is there any kind of fuse or breaker for the starter? Any help appreciated!
Thanks

welcome to the zoo....at the starter ..there is a just above the connection where the batt. lead connects to the starter solenoid...there is a fusable link....first off...check the connections for corrosion...the usual culprit.......
also check the path for the hot lead that runs from the alt. to the starter..sometimes that is routed along the top of the block and can cause a short....

another culprit is that the batt. may have gone flat on you....
also check the emergency cut off sw. where your lanyard connects...

let us know what you find....

If you get a tone (alarm verification) when you turn the key to the Run position but you get nothing when you turn the key to the Start position you may also want to check the safety "Kill" switch on the throttle hasn't been flipped.
