Default Hole shot to plain very slow

Can anyone give me an idea on where to look as to why I am having such a long time to plain my boat off?
1988 model Stratus Nashville 279V Bass Boat.
Boat: Stratus 279V
Engine: Johnson 150 HP (newly tuned)
Prop: stainless 4 Blade
It just seams like it is taking a long time to get up on plane.
Motor sounds good and healthy
only using about 10 gal of gas, and both live wells are empty of water.
Any place I should check first?
Thank You
All advise is welcomed.

Depends on your pitch on the prop. If you go up in pitch your get on plane faster, but might lose some with speed. So, if your running a 19 pitch on your prop i would go to 21. Good luck

What is the max RPM's your motor is rated at?
What is the max RPM's you are getting at WOT?
If you are below max RPM's at WOT then you need to go down in pitch (19 to 17).
If you are above max RPM's you need to go up in pitch ( 19 to 21).

I am kinda of a novice at this. I will try to find out the pitch on my prop, and also I did not look at RPM,s. That may sound stupid but I just floored it because the gas pedl was so hard to push down. I was told that the gas peddeal was supposed to be hard. I am 68 and just purchased the boat. Thank you and I will get back with you.

Was the trim all the way down?
Any marine growth at the bottom of the boat?
When was the engine last serviced?
