Default Help diagnosing engine clicking/not accelerating

Our 1999 Maxum SR2100, Mercruiser 5L after running for 45 minutes or so will start making a clicking sound and will not allow acceleration and idles roughly. About 2 months ago the spark plugs were replaced and the carb was rebuilt. At a loss of what to do next? Any advice?

Welcome aboard!

Can you post a video of this? Could it be detonation? The TBV ECM has a knock sensor and will go into limp mode.

Default Engine loud noise, won’t start

3 times our 1999 Maxum SR 2100, Mercruiser 5.0 made clicking sounds and then would not accelerate. Boat would only move at very low speed. Now, boat made a loud clicking/snapping sound and will not start. I tried to post a video but no luck. Any thoughts?

Does the engine turn over but not start? If so verify there is 12V on the + terminal of the coil. When was it last tuned up? May be time for spark plugs, cap, rotor and wires.
