Default Has Anyone Installed MSD Ready-To-Run Distributor?

I'd be interested in hearing from anyone that has installed the MSD distributor, or any other distributor that does not require an ICM.
This distributor gets mixed reviews online and I would appreciate a first hand account. I'm strongly considering giving it a try.

The Mallory distributor has good reviews. For under $400 it comes with a coil and wires.

You remove the ICM when installing the Mallory or MSD marine distributors.
I am on last line of the Thunderbolt V Ignition troubleshooting chart.
So if new coil doesn't fix ignition problem then next and final step is replace ICM. ICM costs more than either of these distributors so I'll have a decision to make.
I should get the coil and ignition sensor today, hopefully they will fix my spark issue.

Yes it's a all in one package, no external ICM.
