Wow you left the engine in place, how did you get the tank out of the boat?

Most install rubber pads under the tank when installing and if metal coat it with an epoxy paint.

But where did you remove it from? Into the cabin, cut the deck above it, ...? Take it out in one piece? Got pictures?

Looking at the two pictures again looks like you may have removed the bulkhead all the way up to the deck; correct? Did this allow you to lift the tank at an angle and back over the engine?

They told you the engine had to come out because the 'aft wall' is actually a bulkhead and is structural. This is like removing a large portion of a load bearing wall to 'open up the room' in a house.

That bulkhead supports the cockpit deck and the midships hulls from flexing. The easiest solution is not always the best solution.

Good luck.

The fire wall is not load bearing on the bulkhead whats so ever
The main bulkhead is the entrance of the aft

That bulkhead wasn't tabbed into the deck right below the window? While I admit I've not seen all models and model years, on most that bulkhead separated the mid cabin from the engine compartment and was directly below the window. It spanned the stringers and supported the deck above it.

Was yours just a façade??

Where are your lifting strap marks on the hull? They should line up with a bulkhead. On my 2800 the lifting strap marks lined up with THAT bulkhead.
