Default engine upgrade

hey, Can anyone advise how difficult it would be to upgrade the engine in my boat to a 4.3 efi, if i need to change my engine (which i probably will) would i gain from having the efi engine??

well...you can purchase all the parts and do it yourself..or replace the engine complete..which would be much more preferable unless you like to tinker and build things....it would require changing everything from the intake manifold out as well as adding the computer...distributor and a fuel pumps ..filters ..etc....

a complete engine would be the easiest way to go...everything is pretty much a bolt in process..

what you'll get is better cold starts...better idle control...better fuel economy thru precise fuel/air metering...and way better throttle response....

I like the thought of better fuel economy, the price of petrol(gas)here is now £1.10 per litre which is roughly $8.50-$9 per gallon.

Its a mammoth job on the 4.3.. far cheaper to sell the boat and buy one with a 4.3MPI... there's plenty floating about. Don't expect to save anything on fuel though.. the EFI's aren't any more efficient.... its worth it though for that Bit more power and better reliability/engine stopping when you turn the key!
