New carbs on both mains 5.0L B2
Out of the box, they are very slow out of the hole until the secondaries kick in around 3200 rpm. I知 also getting surging at around 1800 of about 50-75 rpm.
Any tidbits on tuning these carbs to address the issues?
John - this is interesting as you're the first person I've heard of having issues with these carbs out of the box. Have you checked for a vacuum leak between the carb and intake? Being that their new I would contact Edelbrock and discuss this with them.
I went the Edelbrock route because of the rave reviews. I will say the kick is impressive when the secondaries open. Anyone know what the primaries alone flow? I知 suspecting that the air valve isn稚 opening soon enough to feel the engine at lower rpm.
That was one good thing about the 2bbls. No secondary lag.

Last suggestion was to fatten the secondary jets, which I’ll try this weekend.
I’m also checking fuel pressure, as these carbs don’t like it too low or too high.
