Default Connections to battery

I every one

I allows me to display you a short questioning concerning various connections on the battery. After restarted by my Yacht (Maxum 1800 sr3) this week end, I meet as a hen in front of a knife at the time of re-connecting up my battery: foultitude of son and I have hollow out and I did not put landmarks of course for connections. Check, I try a bit, sends some bouquets of sparks by top edge and everything comes back into order. I had 2 big yellow sons, that I put on-, a red and a black that I put on +. And about the bilge pump and the radio, i put them on -
Can someone remind me which one goes on + and -
(sorry for aproximative translation  )
Thanks anyway

If I remember correctly the two larger yellow wires go to negative (-). The large red one and all of the smaller wires that run your radio and gauges go to positive (+). Make sure you put the large red wire that goes to your starter on first with the smaller wires on top of it.

If you put a wire on the positive post and you get a big spark...it goes on the negative post.

david...hard to follow your thinking here...but from what I know...
- is black or brown..
+is red or yellow....

be sure that the leads are connected correctly or you will get the smoke test...if your not sure how to do this..get a pro-electrical guy to help out...

david...the bilge pump has a brown wire that goes to the pos. of the battery...there is another wire that should be black that is connected to the - of the batt...then there is another wire that goes to a switch on the dash that should say bilge...that is a manual overide....check it out and see if there is a switch on the dash...hope this helps..

almost forgot...the radio has a red and black wire...they should go to your dc fuse panel marked radio...that's where the red wire goes...the black wire should attach to a ground block under the dash somewhere....

hope this helps...make sure you turn the batt. switch off when not in use...
