Ok you guys, (new to the Forum)

I have a 3.0 Mercruiser, new to me. The guy took good care appearance wise (lol) and I have some issues. I have the Engine S/N, the Transom S/N as well as the Drive. Trying to order Parts or a Parts Manual seems to be very difficult as: They are looking for a number ie. 430B........? They also tell me that my S/N's are wrong!!

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Tom

Welcome aboard

What parts are you trying to order? Under Documents of this site you will find the Mercruiser manuals for your engine and outdrive.

If you provide the S/Ns we can try to figure out if they are valid. Are you getting them off the engine cowl or flame arrestor?

Who'd a thunk it? Changed the OD to a 0D (zero D) and bam I was in!!!

The impeller kit has been difficult as,there are many choices to choose from.

What year is it?
If it is an Alpha1 Gen2 and I think it is I think that the impellers are all the same part# for all Alpha1 Gen2 drives.

I've got it in the 89-90 range...(yes, I need to confirm) which, to the best of my knowledge makes it a Gen 1.

Here's the deal: lol
Went through the outdrive and replaced the Shift Cable. (it wouldn't shift) Got that all squared away and a few cruises later, I had a drip or two of Water coming from the circulation Pump. That drip turned into a big spray approx 6 kliks from our Dock. I crippled it in (2,000 rpm max) and pulled the pump. Rusty, corroded and nasty but, low and behold, the Timing cover had several holes in it!! Took it to a local Shop (yes the Bolts were "jacked" as well) and they pulled the Motor. Wasn't my plan but, oh well. New Bearings, Carb. Kit etc.etc. and it was re-installed. I brought him the Water clamp that goes around the outdrive but, before I showed up for the "test fire" they had already started it. Worried about my Water intake thingy, he plugged the water hose to the Engine. Ergh
