Default Buszzer

I just started my boat after winter all fair well during storage but the buzzer alarm won't go off I belive its the left temp sender does anybody have a suggestion for testing?

It would help knowing the year of the engines and if they are carbureted or fuel injected.

It sounds like a continuous buzz so I’ll assume carbureted. First check the gear lube reservoir level.

For most engines, there are 3 switches that trigger the buzzer.
Oil pressure, gear lube and temperature. Each provides a connection to ground when condition is met. For oil pressure, it’s a normally closed switch that opens when oil pressure is above 6psi. Gear lube closes when level falls below min and temperature switch closes when coolant is over 190-225F (depending on the switch installed).

You can isolate which switch is providing the ground (triggering the buzzer) by disconnecting the tan/blue lead from each one at a time. Note: For the oil pressure, the engine must be running and oil pressure must be above 6psi.

Hello again ,1995 2400 305 carburetor, when I pull the left temp sender wire the alarm goes off,I have taken to outdrive bottle off and cleaned it ,check with ohm meter and read good,,I have check ground to all three sensors ,they are all grounded,I have check wires to sensors they are all grounded,I have pulled the buzzer and it has power and ground all the time?any ideas would be helpful.

These sensors are switches and the temperature and gear lube lever sensor are normally open while the oil pressure switch is normally closed, this is because when the engine isn’t running there is no oil pressure which is a condition you want the alarm to sound. Once the engine is running and oil pressure builds the switch opens and the alarm should turn off. I would disconnect all 3 sensors to verify the alarm stops buzzing. If it still buzzes then either the alarm is bad or there’s a short in the tan wiring. If it does stop buzzing connect one sensor at a time to see if it starts buzzing. If it does that sensor is bad. Note engine needs to be running to check oil pressure sensor.
