Default 2000 maxum 2400 scr 5.0 engine needs to pump throttle to start

Took my 2000 Maxum 2400 SCR with 5.0 engine to local marina to service the stern drive. They also found that carburetor choke was not wired correctly, stuck and always on. Since they corrected the wiring to the carburetor and installed new harness and temp switch, the choke is not working correctly, engine won't start. Now, I have to pump the throttle about 3 times to be able to start. Has anyone have any input what's going on and what adjustment my engine or carburetor needs to do TKS (turn key start) without pumping the throttle?

I am confussed, do you have a standard carb with choke or a TKS carb? TKS doesn't have choke but instead has a type of injector that primes and enriches the fuel when the engine is cold.

There is a temp sensor on the carb that tells the injector when to operate.

If it was working before why did they mess with it? Since they broke it why not take it back to them to be fixed?

Mike, sorry for the confusion. I think, it's a standard carburetor with choke. Called the marina who messed with it, wants me to bring the boat back, willing to check and give me credit for the harness and temp switch if they are not working, and fix it until it runs properly. Thanks...

Glad to hear they are stepping up to fix what they broke.
