1998 1900 SR - Stalling - Maxum Boat Owners Club

Hi All,

First time posting. I have a 1998 Maxum SR. For a few weeks it was running rough, meaning it would start but when I put it into drive it would either run very rough or it would not go at all, the engine would eventually stall. I replaced the fuel filter and tried again this weekend, it started fine, but the minute I would put it in gear it would stall. Any ideas? The carb was rebuilt 2 years ago. The engine only has 80 hours on it. Thanks for any help!

What engine do you have and when was it last tuned up?

4.3 L V6 - I purchased the boat two years ago, so not sure when the last tune up was. I did replace the fuel filter early in the season and it ran fine for a few outings.

I would perform a complete tune up as I’m sure it’s due.
