Default Wiring radio to ACC switch

I have a 99 1800sr and am wanting to wire my radio to my empty acc switch rather than having it hot at all times. My question is routing the wires, my radio of course in on the port side and switches on starboard side. I can not find any wiring running down the port side to the battery so i dont know where it crosses at. I'm looking for advice whether to try to find the existing wiring for the radio or just cut and splice into the power/memory wires and route them however needed. Any advice would be great- Thanks in advance. Tim

In my boat the wiring from the radio goes forward around the bow to get to the starboard side, and under the dash, next to the hull is a multi-pin plug that the wires connect to. Must be about 10 or 12 wires in the plug, some for the radio, some for the courtesy lights.
I'm going to upgrade my radio this week, and am going to re-wire it all.
