Default Some gauges not working

Hi - Purchased SC1900 2001 Mercruiser 4.3L Sunday.

Took out on water and the Trim, Speed, RPM and Petrol gauges not working.

Totally new to this game and not mechanically minded.

Any advice on stuff I can look at or pay some one instead?

Thanks

Welcome aboard eeyeore!!! You can ALWAYS find someone willing to take money to do a job you won't/can't do. The question is 'how much money will it take?'. IF all the gauges aren't working there is a electrical problem. The gauges are made by Faria with a limited lifetime warranty, however this doesn't sound like a gauge failure.

Speed is typically a mechanical gauge, not electrical. See this link -
Our pick up sensors are built into the outdrive but all the same theory’s apply.

Fuel is typically a ground issue, lift the cover and look for any broken or disconnected wires, you should be able to see the tank down low...
Tach could be a few things… no signal from distributor is where I would start.

Once you get into it a little let us know wire colors and locations of things that don’t look right, then we can move forward.

Thanks for the reply. Boat sat in water at moment but will lift out soon and look at these points. Thanks for a starting point. Will update as soon as I can.
