Default Non working fridge.

I have a fridge in a 3200SCR that has stopped cooling twice, the motor runs. Each time I pulled it out of the cabinet and put it back in again, it started cooling. I had a Norcold dealer say it could be a blockage with the freon. Is there a fix for this? Also, too big to get thru door opening to get out of boat. Any ideas? Boat is a 1999.

If it were a blockage in the freon, I wouldn't expect it to start working again. Teh freon lines are not flexible, so I doubt the line is pinched.

It sounds more like an electrical issue.

As for getting it out the htachway, you should be able to remove the door and the door mounting hardware on the fridge.

Do you hear the fan running when it is not cooling?

Just going through this myself. Compressor runs … the temperature stat works (shuts off and turns on the compressor) but no cooling. So I pulled it out and found a little residue of 134A (refrigerant) on the copper lines in the back. Took it to an RV center for repairs - they are looking at it tomorrow. I will advise on the out come.

The fridge door removal is key to getting it out and the boats' door handle has to be unscrewed- then slide the door all the way into the recess. 16 years and it has worked flawless - guess the constant vibration wears the copper lines out in places.

Also, watch out when you remove the hinge screws from the refrigerator case to the door. The bottom hinge on my Norcold DE 441 was made of plastic and snapped in half due to tilting down in the process. I'll have to fab a new bracket.
