Default MMSI number - soon to be 'new to me boat'

Paper work flowing, should be on the 'new' boat early next week.

Equipped with an iCOM IC-M504 VHF with full DSC capability. During sea trial/survey I didn't have the chance to check for the MMSIi number. Owner is out of state and everything has been broker 2 broker (both local) for the sale, so I haven't spoken to owner.

I'm going to assume the boat has an MMSI - my question is how to go about letting the USCG, and FCC if registered, know I'm the owner now?

Thanks in advance

The answer is about 3/4 down the page under section "MMSI as it pertains to the boat."

Cheers!
