Lowrance HDS 7

Hi, I have a HDS 7 in my 2001 3500... When I bought it I noticed the older raytheon scanner on the top of the arch, but never really thought much about it. Its not hooked into my HDS 7 and I was wondering if I could hook it up. I imagine it doesn't work or the last owner would have hooked it up (or maybe the HDS 7 doesn't do radar?).

Any input would be appreciated.

Your Lowrance is not a radar unit but can network to a radar and overlay maps from the chart plotter/gps. That old radar array is just dead weight.

Great, how do I network to radar with it?

Through the NMEA 2000 interface. But you don’t have a complete radar system you only have the antenna on the arch.

HDS 7 Gen 3 looks like it supports the following:

Radar compatibility: 4G (Broadband), 3G (Broadband), TX06L-1 (6kW HD Digital)

Which generation of HDS-7 do you have?

Based on those requirements, I doubt anything that has "Raytheon" printed on it will work. Raytheon started marketing under Raymarine in 2001.
