Default Digital depth gauge barely visible

Hi,

I bought my 1998 maxum 1900SR last fall and I planned on fixing the digital display on the depth finder. The display is super brown and neatly impossible to read.

Is it cleanable or is the plastic on the display removable or replaceable? Can I replace these whole gauge and connect it to the existing transducer?

It's going to be tough to fit a different depth finder gauge into the current location so I'm hoping I don't have to replace it.

I got the faux wood panel loose and took a picture of my findings. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I would try the headlight restorer that you can buy at any auto parts store.
