Default 4.3 swap

I just recently picked up a 1992 1800 SR that has a cracked block. I happen to have a running 1999 4.3 that I want to drop in. Before I get too far into it I was hoping to find out how close the wiring is going to be. Is it a plug and play on the main wiring harness or does it need pins moved? Does anyone have a wiring schematic for a 1992 and a 1999 that I can compare? The 1999 is out of a Stingray 190 RS if that helps.

Both are Mercruisers 10 pin connector which have identical connections. plug and play.

I don't recall if the 1992 has an electric fuel pump but the 1999 will, either way if you are swapping it all over it's a non issue as the wiring for the fuel pump is all confined to the engine harness.

I can see an electric fuel pump on the front cover of the 1992 just the same as the 1999. One more notch in the "its a good idea" stick.

I know my 1993 had an electric pump, just could not remember what year the change happened for the 4.3.

I believe the 5.7 didn’t change until 1998 for boats.

Started the process last night. Pulled the out-drive, disconnected throttle cables, wire harness and pulled upper exhaust manifolds. Need to figure out power steering. Looks like I will just pull the hoses off the pump so I can reconnect to pump on new motor. Still have battery cables a few more wires then she comes out. Looks like the backhoe I just picked up will come in handy.
Then off to the donor boat.
Looks like I had better move this over to Engines for the remainder of the swap. See swap here:
