Default Shipping out soon

Hello All,
We are closing this weekend on a 2001 2900SCR. We had it checked out last weekend - now just need to sign the paperwork. It only has 260 hours and the generator has only 215. We had a pretty thorough inspection and plan to take a ride prior to closing. I am positive that I have a great deal to learn and look forward to participating and getting your advice.
Any general thoughts about anything else we should do prior to purchase would be appreciated.

First welcome. ......sounds like you're following the right path. If you had a survey done by a qualified surveyor great and yes take a sea trial with the surveyor also before you sign any papers. Any issues?... use that at your closing.

Is this your first boat? If so look into a safe boating class for the whole family.

When you go on the your sea trial make sure the surveyor goes through all the boats systems so you know.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Roger

Welcome aboard

Things to look for on the sea trial, WOT, wide open trottle rpm. This should be 4400 - 4800.

Engine temp, I also recommend exhaust temp reading with a hand held IR sensor. Even though low hours corresion can build up and clog them.

Post some pictures
