sounds like a good deal..the first thing I suggest you do is other than change out all fluids and oils..but replace the impeller in the drive...it's mainly called the raw water impeller...
then take a boating safety course....if you have a family have them take it also....

good luck...post pic's here...we looooove pic's....

Thanks for the advice will do. The name does actually mean something, If there are any Navy members on here they may be able to figure it out.

Hi Everyone, I've just signed up. Purchased a year 2000 2755SCR with 5.7MPI and B3 back in January. Really pleased with it. The boat is kept in Pwllheli, North Wales. I have been keeping an eye on you guys for a few weeks on and off so thought that it was time I registered. I hope I can contribute in my own way, but I am impressed with the knowledge of some of you guys!

Hi! My husband and I just bought a new 2008 Maxum 1800mx and named it the Sleeping Monkey. After visiting a few marinas now, I think it may be close to the smallest boat on the Ohio River!

I'm super excited - we've never had a boat before. We live in Cincinnati and are both definitely boating newbies. Looking forward to learning a lot on the message board.

Greetings,

Just took delivery of a 2006 2000SR3 with the Mercruiser 5.7MPI. Looking to get it out on the water in the next few weeks on Flathead Lake, Montana.

First concern is that it does not come with any kind of owner's manual. Seems like that has been a topic on the site, but I have not found access to anything directly relevant to this boat yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Bill

Hi Bill
welcome to the zoo..and for your owners manual...sorry to hear that the po didn't include it with the boat....

so..here's what you need to do...you can either go online to maxumboats.com and look for your owners manual in a pdf form....

or get your hin number on the swim step or stern..contact US Marine and ask for one..they will be happy to send one for free...last I heard...

Thanks for the welcome note. I hope this will be mutually beneficial and have the opportunity to make some new contacts. I am UK based in a leafy county called Surrey near the River Thames and 14 miles out of London.
Kind Regards .

we're dedicated to boating in general and maxum boats in particular..however a boat is a boat in my mind...so welcome to our site..please feel free to post here and ask questions....we have a few guys here that have alot of knowledge and experience with our boats...

introduce yourselves and please leave some info in your bio...you don't need your social security number or anything personal...just where you boat..maybe model and yr of boat...hobbies...etc.....bank account numbers would be good or just send me your master card number!!...ok..just kidding about the last part.....

Hello everyone. I am so new I don't even own my Maxum yet, but hope to buy it this week at a So Cal boat auction. Question: The boat is a 2006 2000 SR-3, with the 5.0 MPI 260 hp engine. I have looked for this combo all over the West Coast (I live in Los Angeles) and it seems to be pretty rare.

Am I right - or am I just looking in all the wrong places?

Thanks everyone - I am not new to boat owning but will a Maxum will be new. Also, the boat has 30 hours on it, but in bad shape. What should I do to it immediately? All fluids? What else?

2002 Maxum 1900SR with a 5.0 V8 220HP. Go to El Capitan most of the time, and we enjoy wakeboarding and hanging out. Boat's been great, some issues lately, but will get it sorted!

Hello All,

Closing tomorrow on a 02 2900 SCR. End of season steal, I couldn't resist, was going to wait until next year but the price was great. She passed sea trial today and I am boating tomorrow.

quick question: Anchor windlass is missing the handle/wrench to tighten up the clutch. Any idea where to get a new one (cheap or otherwise). Glad to be a card carrying zoo member
