Default Maxum 1700 - need info

I am new here, My Name is David, and I was given a maxum boat. It's a 1700 series with an 85hp force. Do not know anything about the boat and specifications. What fuel ratio is and how much fuel it takes and really need a manual on the boat. Don't know where to start. If anyone out there can help me I certainly would appreciate it..

Under the Documents tab of this site the oldest manual we have is a 1992 and for that year the fuel tank was 12 gallons for the 1700.

Don't know about the fuel/oil ratio, have you googled this for the force outboard?

Just the one for a 1992 that I mentioned, not much info in these manuals and nothing on the motor, that would be a separate Force manual.

I emailed someone when I first got my 1989 Maxum 1700. Same motor too. Finally got it on the water after a year of working/modding parts. Half of anything isn't available any more. 50:1 ratio is right, but my fuel tank states 21 gallon on the plate thats on the fuel tank. 12 sounds more like it as I tried to full it up from empty and it only took 9.5 gallons. Threw my ratio off a bit too. Ended up being about 38-40:1. I'll see if I still have the manual when I get home tonight.

Did you verify the tank contents by the gauge or by some other means, like dipping the tank or running it empty? It might be a 21 gallon tank half empty with a gauge that reads empty due to a gauge or fuel sender issue.

No. Haven't gotten that far yet. Had to mod a plate for the lower unit to seal the shift rod. Now I have a carb spitting fuel. Probably needs a good cleaning and the float needle checked.

Post your email here so I can send it right out for you if I have it. I've been pretty busy lately with family stuff so I'll look when I get home.

I was unable to open your message. But I don't have any info on the boat at all. Anything you have would be helpful at this point..
